setWorks is a production and manufacturing company specialising in the realisation of bespoke objects and environments. These include contemporary artwork, exhibitions, retail, events, sets, props, architecture and interactives. We cannot be defined by one genre of fabrication or project; rather we are a team of designers, makers and strategists with a comprehensive fabrication and project delivery capability. We offer a full range of design and build services to support your ideas from interpretation to installation. A sample of our recent projects is below, or please feel free to view our project archive.
setWorks explores your ideas and conducts feasibility studies with you, rationalising your concept into a design / construction brief that can be realised effectively within your given timeframe and budget.
Drawing on years of experience our production design team and associated consultants specify with accuracy, creativity and confidence, ensuring safe and effective fabrication and construction.
With the capacity, knowledge, tools and capabilities to transport, deliver and install all aspects of your project (internationally), we can build anything, anywhere. setWorks makes the impossible - possible.
CNC offers speed and accuracy with a 10ft x 4ft sheet handling ability. Our in-house CAD technicians can create files from your brief, or we can cut, carve and engrave from files supplied. The software and operators are onsite forming an integral part of our team.
With the exception of metal, we can cut or engrave a range of substrates, including acrylic, fabric, leather, rubber, card and cork. With a sheet size of 8ft x 4ft and an acrylics cutting depth of 10mm, this is a versatile tool. If you have a new material, ask us and we will try it.
setDeck (8ft x 4ft) is rated to 7.5KN/m2 and is more slim line than many decking systems at 120mm, including birch ply top. Clients can select form over 100 standard sized pieces, alternatively we can provide a bespoke quote for more specific requirements.
We have over 14,000sqft of flexible workshop and studio space which is available for fabrication, testing and pre-rigging. Our workshop is set-up to shrink and expand each discipline as the project demands.
We offer start-ups / creatives a base at setWorks as our Artists in Residence. They have space, access to the workshop and to the team. Our aim is to support emerging talent by welcoming them into an established practice.
We have relationships in place with local charities and trade skills centres. Our surplus materials are donated so they can be re-used, recycled and help others learn practical skills. The community is important to us.
