MY NAME IS LETTIE EGGSYRUB – GLOUCESTER ROAD
HEATHER PHILLIPSON
We were thrilled to he a part of Heather Philipson’s first public commission in the UK. ‘My Name is Lettie Eggsyrub’ filled the full 80m of the disused Gloucester Road platform with what Phillipson calls ‘a walk-in collage’. Exploring the relationship between human and non-human animals, with this commission Phillipson focused on the egg as an object of reproduction systems, a representation of fertility, birth and futurity as well as over production, consumption, exploitation and fragility.
